A vibrant digital home for a practice that does things differently
Ignite Psychology is a child psychology practice based in Summer Hill, Sydney, offering individual therapy, parenting programs, and educator workshops. Their philosophy is simple — break away from the cold, sterile image of traditional psychology clinics and create something warm, inviting, and full of energy. The website needed to reflect exactly that.
Bringing warmth and life to a sensitive, audience-first website
Building a website for a child psychology practice comes with a unique set of considerations. The audience spans children, parents, and educators — each needing to feel immediately at ease. The tone had to be warm and approachable without feeling unprofessional, and the design language had to feel alive and engaging, especially for younger visitors.The biggest technical challenge was the mascot — a custom illustrated character central to the brand identity. It needed to feel genuinely animated and playful throughout the site, not just static. We solved this using a combination of GSAP and Lottie, bringing the mascot to life with smooth, frame-by-frame animations that respond naturally as visitors scroll and interact with the page.
A collaborative agency build design, copy, and development working as one
This project was built as part of the team at a leading branding agency in Australia, working alongside two other Webflow developers, a dedicated UI/UX design team, and a copy team. My role was Webflow development — translating the design team's detailed UI into a fully functional, animated, and CMS-powered Webflow site.
The site was built on the Client-First framework with Webflow CMS powering the blog and services sections. Finsweet Attributes handled dynamic filtering and the Instagram feed was connected using Finsweet's Instagram Connect, pulling the practice's latest posts directly into the site. GSAP and Lottie handled all the animations — from section reveals to the mascot's blinking and movement sequences.

The client was ecstatic with the outcome. The finished site captures everything Ignite Psychology stands for — vibrant, warm, and full of life. It feels nothing like a traditional psychology clinic and everything like the practice they set out to build. The mascot animations, the gentle section reveals, and the carefully considered copy all come together to create a digital experience that puts families at ease from the very first scroll.
